Stassi's homer lifts Astros to first win of 2017

Max Stassi's late homer leads Astros to 3-2 victory

The Astros notched their first win of Spring Training today, beating the Atlanta Braves by a score of 3-2. Max Stassi was the hero, coming through with an 8th inning two run homer that put the Astros ahead for good. It was the first Astros home run of the Spring.

Ten different Astros recorded hits, all but two of them singles. Colin Moran was the lone Astro with multiple hits (2). Twenty different Astros recorded AB’s.

After a rough opening game Saturday the pitching staff recovered nicely, allowing two runs on seven scattered hits. Brady Rogers got the start, allowing one run on two hits in two innings of work.

The Astros are back in action tomorrow as they take on the New York Mets at their complex in Port St. Lucie. George Springer, Josh Roddick and Yulieski Gurriel will make their Spring Training debuts. Joe Musgrove, a favorite to win the fifth spot in the rotation, will start the game for Houston.
