Astros Defeat A's 4-1

The Astros kicked off their west coast road trip in style, riding a strong Brad Peacock start to a 4-1 victory in Oakland.

The Astros emerged victorious in the first game of their west coast road trip, defeating the Oakland Athletics 4-1.

All four Astros runs came via the long ball. Jake Marisnick delivered the first, crushing a low fastball 440 feet to straight away center.

It was his second home run in as many days.

George Springer also had his second consecutive night with a long ball, driving an opposite field liner over the right-center field wall.

Derek Fisher provided additional insurance, driving a towering fly ball to right for his second career home run.

Brad Peacock delivered another solid performance, tossing 5.2 innings of one run baseball with 8 strikeouts.

Peacock has 18 strikeouts in his last two starts.

Will Harris threw 1.1 scoreless, Devo struck out two in the 8th and #Kenneth recorded his 7th save to seal the Astros victory

The series continues tomorrow as rookie Francis Martes faces potential trade candidate Sonny Gray in game 2. First pitch 9:05 CT, Oakland Coliseum.
