Scouting Report

Funkhouser doesn't look quite as big as his listed height and is mildly undersized for a big league righty starter. But, he's well proportioned and is a very solid athlete with a strong lower half. His 88-91 mph fastball plays up a tick or two because of his big life through the zone. There are some moving parts to his delivery but he manages to stay around the plate consistently. He flashes a solid-average curveball at 75-78 mph with 11-5 action, as well as a fringy changeup at 80-82. He shows an advanced feel for pitching and could get acclimated as a pro rather quickly.
