Clark Lists Top Three

O.P. Walker produces a plethora of college football players and the Chargers have a junior standout -- DE/OLB Lyn Clark -- who is destined for the next level.

"I ain't going to lie. Arizona is the school I want to talk to," said Lyn Clark, whose older brother - former Michigan safety Carvin Johnson - may land with the Wildcats soon. "They hired Rich Rod as head coach and my brother really likes that. They're very close; Rich Rod recruited him to Michigan.

"I also like that Arizona has Cortez (Johnson) and Jonathan McKnight, who are both from New Orleans. Pitt is another favorite. In-state, I really like ULL. I was supposed to go to a ULL game with Marques Cheeks but we weren't able to make it. They're really good. ULL is my favorite out of the smaller schools, and they're going to continue having success in the future if they play like they have been."

Clark is keeping a close eye on local program Tulane and its search for a head coach.

"It would be huge if they got (current LSU RBs coach and recruiting coordinator) Frank Wilson," he said. "If he went there, I would have a lot more interest and they would get a lot more interest in general."

Clark helped O.P. Walker to the second round of the 4A playoffs this fall. The Chargers were ousted on the road in overtime by Teurlings Catholic, although that didn't prevent Clark from having one of his best games of the year.

"I did a good job of playing the run against Teurlings - taking on the trap," he said. "I also got a lot of tackles against Higgins. We got after it in that game.

"I had a couple of my biggest sacks against Belle Chasse."
