Parade Photos: Oakland Celebrates A Champion!

OAKLAND - It took 40 years, but the Golden State Warriors are finally champions of the NBA once again. The City of Oakland rolled out the red carpet for its first championship parade since 1981. We have photos of the festivities.

Not since 1975 had the City of Oakland had a chance to celebrate an NBA champion. An estimated 1 million people crowded downtown Oakland to cheer on the 2015 NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Because of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, the Oakland A's didn't have a parade after their last championship. Consequently, it had been since 1981 when the Oakland Raiders won the Super Bowl that Oakland had had a championship parade. The people in the crowd agreed it was well worth the wait. Below are a few photos from the parade route.
