Oakland A's extended partnership with Vermont Lake Monsters

The Oakland A's have extended their player development contract with the Vermont Lake Monsters.

The Oakland A's will keep their short-season A affiliate in Burlington, Vermont, through the 2018 season, the team announced on Friday. The A's officially extended their player development contract two more seasons with the Vermont Lake Monsters. The A's have housed their short-season A ball team with the Lake Monsters since the 2011 season.

Since that time, the A's have sent many of their top young prospects through the New York-Penn League, including current big leaguers Addison RussellRyan DullRyon HealyBruce Maxwell and Dillon Overton (joining the A's on Saturday). The A's top 2016 draft pick, A.J. Puk, is currently on the Lake Monsters' roster, as well.
