Bats quiet in Midland RockHounds Game Three loss

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals staved off elimination by shutting out the Midland RockHounds, 4-0, in Game Three of the Texas League Championship Series.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals proved they won't go down without a fight. Backed by a stellar pitching performance from Josh Staumont and three relievers, the Naturals three-hit the RockHounds to prevent the RockHounds from clinching their third-straight title.

The RockHounds managed just three singles and three walks in the game. Tyler Marincov singled and walked twice, reaching base as often as the entire rest of the team combined. Brandon Mann got the start for Midland and he pitched well in a tough-luck loss. The lefty went six innings, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk. He struck-out eight. Mann has an 0.73 ERA this post-season.

The RockHounds take a second crack at clinching the title on Thursday. James Naile will take the hill for the RockHounds.
