There was plenty of pitching on display in Beloit on Saturday, as the Snappers and the HotRods combined to allow just five runs on 18 hits in 12 innings. Snappers' pitchers Michael Murray, Ty Damron and Heath Bowers were particularly effective, striking out a combined 14 batters while walking just two and allowing only six hits. Murray got the start and allowed a run on three hits in five innings, striking out seven. Damron took over in the sixth and allowed a run on three hits and a walk. He struck-out six. Bowers finished off the gem and earned the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.
The Snappers earned the walk-off win when Kyle Nowlin walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th. It was Nowlin's first at-bat of the game (he pinch-hit for Cole Gruber). JaVon Shelby, Trace Loehr, Nate Mondou, Luke Persico and Miguel Mercedes all had two-hit games. Click here for the full boxscore.
