Cincinnati Reds (34-24) L-2 v. Oakland Athletics (33-24) W-4

Time: 7:05 P.S.T.
Date: June 09, 2004
Place: Oakland, CA – Network Associates Coliseum

Jason who? Miguel who? Eric who? The swing is back in the East Bay as the latest version of the Oakland Athletics are pounding their opponents at an alarming rate, averaging 10.3 runs in their last three contests. It wasn't all bad for Cincinnati as they pounded out 6 runs off of Zito and the rest of the A's bullpen, but the Reds are most likely looking forward to their flight out of town as their pitching staff has allowed 23 runs in this series and are 0-5 against the A's in inter-league play. Ken Griffey Jr.'s attempt to reach 500 homeruns has been pushed to the back-burner as the talk has shifted to the A's resurgence to within breathing room of first place in the AL West.
