River Cats Update Logos For 2007

The Sacramento River Cats have been one of minor league baseball's most successful franchises since joining the Pacific Coast League in 2000. The River Cats have only had one losing season during their existence. In 2007, the team will be sporting a new look as they pursue another PCL title.

For the first time since arriving in Sacramento in 2000, the River Cats will have a new official logo. The River Cats' front office unveiled their new collection of logos on Wednesday at a fashion show to benefit River Cats Independence Field at Spataro Restaurant and Bar in downtown Sacramento.

"It was important to the River Cats that we create an event for this announcement that was reflective of our personality – fun, irreverent and community oriented," said Alan Ledford, River Cats President, General Manager and COO from the event at Spataro. "We are constantly seeking to keep our brand fresh and the River Cats and Raley Field experience exciting. This is part of that ongoing effort."

The fashion show was called "Project Home Runway," and it featured local designers and design students showing off their own unique River Cats themed clothing designs. On Friday, February 8 at 9am, the designer items modeled on the runway will be auctioned off online at www.rivercats.com. All proceeds from the auction will go to River Cats Independence Field, and the designs will be displayed at a River Cats home game early in the 2007 season.

The River Cats also announced that the team will donate 10% of all purchases made at the On Deck Shop from today through March 28th to River Cats Independence Field. Below are some of the River Cats' new logos:
