On a perfect day for baseball at Raley Field on Sunday, Sacramento right-hander Travis Banwart dueled with Omaha righty Anthony Lerew. Both pitchers would come out of the game with successful starts, but Lerew would be the winner in a 2-1 battle. Banwart tossed six scoreless frames, striking out four and walking two (one intentionally), but it wasn't enough, as Lerew threw eight scoreless innings, striking out seven. Sacramento would get a solo homerun from Dallas McPherson (15) in the bottom of the ninth, but Omaha held on for a 2-1 win.
