Saturday was the first day of tryouts for the famed South Florida Express 7on7 team, and more than 175 hopefuls attended. One of the more impressive athletes was Miami Palmetto safety Wendell Dunn, and he was informed early he made the squad.
The famed South Florida Express 7on7 team held their first tryout camp Saturday, and more than 175 players from the Miami-area showed up showing off their skills.
One of the more impressive athletes in attendance was Miami Palmetto safety Wendell Dunn, 6-foot-4, 210-pounds. Showing quick feet and a long frame, Dunn was an easy choice to land a spot on the team.
Although he probably projects as a 230-pound linebacker at the next level, Dunn is the type of athlete that will draw heavy recruiting interest.
"I had a good year last year as a junior, and I had close to 90 tackles," Dunn stated. I played safety, and did really well. I have one offer right now, from Southern University."
"I like schools like Miami, Ohio State and Louisville," he added. "I love Miami and they have invited me to games this year. They are my favorite school."
