Jays Release 2006 Draft Pick

InsideTheDome has learned that the Toronto Blue Jays released shortstop Greg Lopez earlier this week.

Lopez, who was drafted in the 33rd round of the 2006 draft out of Notre Dame University, didn't spend any time playing for the organization that drafted him.

The 22-year-old was signed a week after he was drafted, but once the short-season leagues began, he was placed on the disabled list with a left leg injury, and never got into a game.
