Jays Sign 12 Players from '07 Draft

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms on contracts with 12 players selected in the 2007 draft.

The highest pick to sign was 6th round pick Michael McDade from Silverado High School. Marcus Walden, the Jays 9th round selection from Fresno City College also passed his physical and agreed to terms.

Catcher Jonathan Talley, selected in the 13th round, from Carlsbad High School and Vanderbilt southpaw Cody Crowell, who was drafted in the 14th round agree to terms.

Texas at Tyler right-hander Nathan Jennings, selected in the 15th round, and Division II utility player Darin Mastroianni from Southern Indians agree to a deal.

19-year-old infielder Alberto Santos from New Mexico Junior College agree to a contact after being drafted in the 17th round.

Two more left-handed pitcher, Brian Letko and Frank Gailey also signed on Tuesday while attending the Jays mini-camp in Dunedin.

The last three players to sign today were drafted in the 24th, 25th and 26th rounds and are all right-handed pitchers. James Dougher, Jason Monti and Ross Buckwalter all agree to deals.

McDade, Walden and Talley are all 18-years-old and drafted from either high school or in Walden's case, one year removed from Junior College.
