This move could possibly be an indicator of things to come for the Atlanta Braves. Several investors were rumored to be interested in purchasing the Braves over the offeseason, including Media Mogul and previous Braves owner Ted Turner. Turner announced publicly that he did not have enough money to purchase the Braves, and talk of the Braves being sold died down shortly thereafter.
With the Hawks and Thrashers off AOL-TW's platter of assets they are willing to sell, the Atlanta Braves could very well be next. Several promiment Atlanta icons have publicly talked about their unhapiness with AOL-TW including Baseball Home Run King, Henry Aaron, who lent his support to Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank. Forbes Magazine estimated the Braves market value is in the neighborhood of a whopping $500 Million dollars.
