Injury Report: 4/12

Find out the latest on the injuries of Chipper Jones, Rafael Furcal, and Paul Byrd and news on when they are slated to return.

Post All-Star Game return for Byrd

The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports that the Braves do not expect Paul Byrd to return from the disabled list before the All-Star break. Byrd needs another week of bullpen sessions, then a week or two throwing batting practice to sharpen his pitches. After that, Byrd will have a rehab assignment in the minors before rejoining the Braves.

Jones down with a torn ligament

Chipper Jones has been relegated to the bench in attempt to heal a Grade II tear in his wrist ligament. He was originally scheduled to start in Thursday's game against Oakland, but was a late scratch. Darren Bragg replaced him in left-field.

Furcal sits with forearm swelling

Rafael Furcal is sitting out Thursday's game in Oakland after taking a grounder off of his forearm in Wednesday night's game. Furcal reported to the ballpark, but according to TBS announcers, was held out of the lineup after complaining of soreness in his wrist. Expect for him to be back for the Seattle series by the latest.
