The Richmond Braves announced today catcher Johnny Estrada, shortstop Jesse Garcia, and pitcher Andy Pratt will participate in the Triple-A All-Star Game at Memphis' AutoZone Park on July 16. International League front office personnel, field managers, and media representatives selected the club, which will meet all-stars from the Pacific Coast League in the 16th annual mid-season classic.
Estrada, 26, is hitting .338-6-40 and ranks 3rd in the International League in batting average and on-base percentage (.404). Elected to the team, Estrada will start in the all-star game behind the plate. Garcia, 29, ranks 7th in the International League in batting with a .316 average and has swiped 16 bases in 64 games. The International League leader with 100 strikeouts, Pratt, 23, is 4-5 with a 3.05 ERA. The Richmond left-hander currently ranks 5th on the circuit in ERA.
The Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast nationally on July 16, at 8:05 p.m. eastern time both on television, by ESPN2, and radio on the Sporting News Radio Network. The game will also be broadcast around the world on Armed Forces Radio.
