Erie couldn't get much going on the mound in Monday's loss to Akron while Lakeland utilized timely hitting to overcome an eight-run deficit in a win over Fort Myers. West Michigan fell to Kane County and the GCL Tigers split a doubleheader.

Erie trailed by two runs late in Monday's series opener against Akron before the SeaWolves surrendered a seven-run eighth inning, falling to the Aeros 12-4. Starting pitcher Drew VerHagen fell to 2-3 with the loss, allowing five earned runs on seven hits over 4 ? innings. Eugenio Suarez accounted for most of Erie's offense, going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs driven in.

After falling behind by seven runs at the midway point of Monday's game against Fort Myers, Lakeland scored 9 runs in the final four innings as the Flying Tigers topped the Miracle 10-9. Chad Green earned a no decision in a short start, allowing two earned runs on no hits over 1 ? innings while walking three. Joshua Carr improved his record to 1-3 with a win out of the bullpen and Jose Valdez earned his sixth save of the season. Corey Jones led the charge for the offense out of the designated hitter spot, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs driven in. Steven Moya also had a solo homer in the win.

West Michigan held a two-run lead late in Monday's game against Kane County before the Whitecaps gave up a five-run seventh, falling to the Cougars 7-4. Starting pitcher Jordan John earned a no decision in a shortened start, shutting out the Cougars on two hits over one inning. Angel Nesbitt earned his fifth blown save of the season and fell to 3-2 after earning the loss in relief. Jake Stewart gave the ‘Caps a boost offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the loss.

Connecticut held Brooklyn to a 2-2 tie going into extra innings in Monday's game before the Tigers gave up the go-ahead run in the top of the eleventh, falling to the Cyclones 5-4. Jonathon Crawford earned a no decision in his start, shutting out Connecticut and not allowing a hit over one inning. Tanner Bailey fell to 0-2 after earning the loss in relief. Dominic Ficociello hit his third home run of the season on a solo shot.

The DSL Tigers trailed by one run going into the ninth inning of Monday's game against the Pirates before scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth, topping the Pirates 5-4. Starting pitcher Sandy Baez earned a no decision after allowing one earned run on three hits over four innings. Jesus Guzman improved his record to 3-1 after earning the win in relief. Sandy Acevedo was a force on offense for the Tigers, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs driven in.

The GCL Tigers struggled to generate any offense in the first game of their doubleheader against the Phillies, falling to the Phillies 4-1. Starting pitcher Fernando Perez fell to 3-1 with the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits over 4 ? innings. Orvin Tovar drove in the only run for the Tigers on a 2-for-3 night at the plate.

Dean Green had a solid game at the plate culminated by a home run and two runs driven in.
