Former Team Photograph Walter Victor dies

John Schuerholz (left) stands with Walter Victor, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 97.

He was a fixture at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and then later at Turner Field. In his later years, Walter Victor still got around, still took pictures, even if he was a little slow getting there.

From Hank Aaron in the first season to Chipper Jones in his last years, Victor photographed every Braves player that came through Atlanta for 38 years. Victor died Tuesday at the age of 97.

He was a war hero, on the beach at Normandy on D-Day.

Here is an article I wrote about Victor a decade ago.

Thank you, Mr. Victor.
