The last time Todd Coffey pitched in a big league game was 2012, with the Los Angeles Dodgers. But the Braves are going to give him a chance to make it back to the Majors.
Atlanta signed Coffey to a minor league contract Wednesday with an invitation to major league spring training.
Coffey pitched last season for Tacoma for Seattle's Triple-A affiliate. He had a 1.93 ERA in 36 games with 34 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched.
Coffey's best season was in 2009 with Milwaukee when he had a 2.90 ERA in 78 games.
The Braves signed Jose Veras and Matt Capps to similar deals Tuesday. All three will fight for one of the last bullpen spots in Atlanta.
