Vizcaino suspended for 80 games

Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino will sit 80 games for use of performance enhancement drugs.

The Braves were hopeful getting Arodys Vizcaino back would resurrect his career. But it will now be on hold for half the season as MLB has announced he has been suspended for 80 games for testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance enhancing drug.

Vizcaino was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett earlier in the week. The Braves had hoped he would win a job in the Atlanta bullpen, but he struggled in his seven games. Vizcaino had a 0-2 record with an ERA of 9.00. He allowed eight runs on nine hits in eight innings, with eight walks and seven strikeouts.

Atlanta acquired Vizcaino over the offseason from the Cubs for second baseman Tommy LaStella, who seems to be winning a job on the Chicago opening day roster with a strong spring training in Arizona.
