The Braves have traded lefty reliever Hunter Cervenka to the Marlins for two prospects – shortstop Anfernee Seymour and lefty pitching prospect Michael Mader.
Miami’s 8th best prospect, Seymour hit .252 with Greensboro in the South Atlantic League. He had 36 stolen bases in 103 games, with one home run, 26 RBI and a .293 on base percentage. He can play center field, but the Marlins moved him to shortstop before the 2016 season.
Seymour’s 36 steals were third in the Sally League.
Mader was rated as Miami 24th best prospect at the time of the trade. Mader is 7-6 in 22 games (21 starts) with Jupiter in the Florida State League. He allowed 97 hits in 103 innings, with 34 walks and 81 strikeouts.
Mader was Miami’s supplemental third round pick in the 2014 draft, while Seymour was the Marlins’ 7th round pick that same year.
Cervenka was 1-0 in 50 games out of Atlanta’s bullpen this season. He allowed 20 hits in 34 innings, with 23 walks and 35 strikeouts.
