Saw a couple of pitchers throw today on the minor league fields. Michael Broadway is one big tall kid. He's real projectable. Wonder how big he'll be in a couple of years. He throws on a good, downward plane.

I've got a new favorite young pitcher. Yeliar Castro. My God does the ball just fly out of his hand. He's got good velocity and a good curve ball. I can't wait to see him again. The coaches were amazed at how good the ball was flying out of him hand.

Zach Schreiber had a nice live BP session today. He's got a chance to be in AA this season. The former Duke star is one of the many solid relief prospects we have.

Beau Jones is going to be a stud pitching prospect. He really looks like an outstanding draft pick.

Brandon Monk saw some time at third base today. I don't think it means much, but they're probably just trying to see how versatile he can be. He's a good Mike Mordecai type of player.

Rumor has it that Yunel Escobar might start out at AA. How does that affect Luis Hernandez? Not sure.

Kyle Davies was OUTSTANDING today. I'll put Bobby Cox's comments up sometime tonight, but he was going on and on and on about HAMMER.

Folks, the more people I talk with down here, the more I think that if Sosa comes back and no starter is traded, Sosa's going to go to the bullpen. Davies is winning a job in the rotation. How can Sosa be stretched out to be a starter when he's been relieving in the winter on the WBC?

And I go back and forth every hour about a trade. Will it happen? Well, after talking with a lot of people today (that's why I was absent for most of the chat - sorry!), I think we're going to make a deal. Just a question of how big it's going to be.

James Jurries keeps hitting, and Matt Diaz keeps playing. That's telling me something.

I talked with Tyler Bullock today, our sixth round pick from last year. He's got a great story, and I'll have it up in a day or two.
