Notes from the minor league games this afternoon:

* David Coggin started for Richmond and did okay. It looks like the former Phillies' starter will be in Richmond's rotation. Coggin pitched 60 games (29 starts) for the Phillies from 2000-2001. He had Tommy John surgery and has missed a few years. He's still only 29, so we'll see how he bounces back this year in Triple-A.

* Peter Moylan did it again folks. He pitched an inning and a third and was perfect with a couple of strikeouts. You talk about someone walking on air. This guy is going to pitch in Atlanta at some point this year.

* Kevin Barry had a rough day. He was squeezed by the scab minor league umps and gave up three runs. KB deserved a better fate.

* Brad Baker also gave up a few runs today. Baker will join Barry in Richmond's pen, which should be pretty deep. Chad Paronto will be in there as well. He pitched a scoreless inning today.

* Jose Ascanio started for Double-A and gave up one run in the first inning. Bryan Digby continues to impress as he makes the transition to a sidearmer.

* Yunel Escobar, playing second base again, got a RBI single off of Adam Miller, Cleveland's top prospect. Mike Rozema, who was at shortstop, also got a RBI single.

* Billy McCarthy continued to show he's coming back nicely from his ankle problems. McCarthy threw out a runner trying to score. Carl Loadenthal did as well, but the scab minor league umpire called the runner safe.

* Matt Esquivel had a double and 2 RBI.

* The Single-A teams will host Washington Saturday at Disney's Wide World of Sports, while the AAA and AA teams will travel to Vierra to take on the Nationals' top farm teams.
