Braves Minor League Preview - April 9

Bill Shanks previews Sunday's minor league schedule.

After a rainout on Saturday, Richmond and Buffalo will play a double-header this afternoon starting at 2:00 pm at the Diamond.

Right-hander Travis Smith will go for the Braves in the first game against Jeremy Guthrie for the Bisons. Richmond will send lefty Damian Moss out in the nightcap against Jason Stanford.

These two teams have split the first two games of the series. Richmond will welcome Durham into town to start a four game series starting Monday night.

Mississippi will go for their second win in a row Sunday afternoon when Chris Waters takes on Huntsville lefty Jeff Housman starting at 2:05 pm ET.

The Braves got their first win of the season Saturday night, breaking out for five runs in the fifth inning after being no-hit for the first four frames.

The Pelicans go for their third win in a row Sunday afternoon at 2:02 when they send former first round pick Luis Atilano to the hill against Wilmington's Andrew Dobies.

Myrtle Beach will head out for their first road trip of the season after today's game, starting a four-game series in Winston-Salem Monday.

Two of the Braves' top pitching prospects will piggyback this afternoon for the Rome Braves as they go for the four-game sweep over the defending Sally League champion Kannapolis Intimidators.

Lefty Beau Jones will kick things off for the Braves and will then be followed by right-hander Asher Demme. Game time is 2:00 pm.
