The Richmond Braves go for their second win in a row Wednesday night when they play host to the Durham Bulls in game three of their four game series.
Wes Obermueller will go for the Braves, who are 3-3 on the season. He lost his season debut with Richmond last Friday but pitched well (two runs in five innings). Edwin Jackson, acquired by the Devil Rays in the Danny Baez trade over the winter, will go for the Bulls.
Mississippi hosts Mobile in game two of their five game set. The Braves won Tuesday to even their record at 3-3.
With Brady Endl on the disabled list, right-hander Ryan Basner will take his spot in the rotation and pitch tonight starting at 8:05 pm ET. Basner pitched four inning in relief last Friday and allowed only one run in four innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out five. Basner will face Padres' prospect Jared Wells.
Myrtle Beach will try to snap a three-game losing streak when they send Jose Ascanio to the mound this afternoon in a game at Winston-Salem that starts at noon.
Ascanio allowed two runs in three innings in his debut last Friday night. Righty Jack Egbert will pitch for the Warthogs against the Pelicans, who are now 2-4 on the season.
Rome tries to keep the streak alive tonight as they go for their sixth win in a row at Grayson Stadium in Savannah.
The Braves will send Chris Vines to the mound against the Sand Gnats. Vines pitched seven strong innings last Thursday and allowed only three earned runs in the season opener.
