Minor League Preview - Tuesday April 18

Bill Shanks previews Tuesday for the Braves' four farm teams.

The Richmond Braves will try to snap a six game losing streak when they play game one of a four-game series with Buffalo Tuesday afternoon at 1:05.

Travis Smith will pitch for the Braves, who are now 3-9 on the season, five games back of Durham in the International League's South Division.

Mississippi plays a double-header with West Tennessee tonight at Pringles Park. Game one starts at 5:05 pm.

Ryan Basner (0-1, 4.15) will go to the mound for Mississippi in game one against Carlos Marmol. The team has not announced its game two starter, but it could be Cuban defector Francisley Bueno, who was added to the roster today. Bueno has been at Extended Spring Training in Orlando.

Macay McBride is also scheduled to pitch two innings in one of the games tonight. It will be McBride's final tune-up before the Braves decide when to place him on the Atlanta roster.

The Braves are 5-6 on the season, one game back of Montgomery in the Southern League's South Division.

Myrtle Beach plays game two of its series with Winston-Salem tonight at 7:02 at Coastal Federal Field.

The Pelicans, 5-7 on the season, will send left-hander Matt Harrison (0-1, 4.66) to the hill against Wes Whisler for Winston-Salem.

Rome will play an unusual morning game in closing out its four-game series with the Intimidators. Game time is at 11:05 am this morning.

Jairo Cuevas will try to help the Braves win their fifth in a row and sweep Kannapolis once again. Rome, now 9-2 on the season, swept the defending Sally League champs in four games in Rome to start the season.
