Minor League Preview - Saturday May 13

The Braves Show's Bill Shanks previews Saturday's action around the Braves' farm system.


Richmond continues its series against the Toledo Mud Hens Saturday night starting at 7:00 at the Diamond.

Right-hander Anthony Lerew, who is 1-2 on the season with an 8.18 ERA, will start for the Braves against Jordan Tata, who was just sent down to AAA by Detroit earlier this week.

The Braves are now 14-21, 12.5 games back of Charlotte in the International League's South Division.


Mississippi plays game two of its series in Birmingham Saturday night starting at 8:05 pm ET.

Sean White (2-2, 3.65) will pitch for the Braves, who are 13-22 on the season and eight games back of Montgomery in the Southern League's South Division.


The Pelicans will try to snap a three-game losing streak tonight as they play in Potomac for the second game of the series.James Parr will get the start for Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans are now 17-18 on the season after their rough start to the month of May. They are now seven games back of Kinston in the Carolina League's Southern Division.


It will be quite a night for the fans in Rome as two members of the Atlanta Braves will play for the Rome team in rehab assignments against Charleston.

Horacio Ramirez will pitch for the Braves. He'll be making his second rehab start as he continues to battle back from the hamstring injury he suffered in the third game of the season out in Los Angeles.

And Kelly Johnson, who is suffering from elbow trouble, will play for the Braves. It's not known whether Johnson will play in the outfield or at second base, where he's been taking grounders during batting practice in Atlanta.

Rome now has a four and a half game lead over the Riverdogs in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division with a record of 24-10.
