Minor League Preview - Friday May 26

The Braves Show's Bill Shanks previews Friday's action around the Braves' farm system. Richmond is in Durham, Mississippi hosts Birmingham, Myrtle Beach welcomes Wilmington, and Rome takes on Savannah.

Richmond closes out its series with the Durham Bulls tonight starting at 7:00. Brian O'Connor (3-3, 3.68 ERA) will make his eighth start of the season for the Braves. O'Connor has become a very dependable Triple-A starter for the Braves, who are 20-27 on the season and 5-5 in their last ten games.

The Mississippi Braves will try and snap a four-game losing streak tonight when they host Birmingham in game four of the five-game series. Paul Bush, who pitched six solid innings in his second start of the season earlier in the week, will start for the Braves. Bush is 2-3 with a 4.01 ERA. The Braves are 17-30 on the season.

After a needed off day Thursday, the Pelicans start a three-game weekend series with Wilmington tonight at Coastal Federal Field starting at 7:02. James Parr, 2-3 with a 3.63 ERA in seven games (five starts), will start for Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans are now 20-25 on the season.

Rome will send Beau Jones to the hill tonight against Savannah in search for their fourth victory in a row. Jones is 1-0 on the season with a 3.68 ERA in seven starts. The Braves are 33-13 this season.
