Minor League Preview - Friday June 2

The Braves Show's Bill Shanks previews Friday night's action around the Braves' farm system. Mississippi is going for its fifth win in a row, while Richmond, Myrtle Beach, and Rome also look to extend winning streaks.

RICHMOND


Richmond goes for its second win in a row against the Syracuse Chiefs tonight starting at 7:00 pm at the Diamond. Right-hander Ricardo Rodriguez will go for the Braves against David Purcey. The Braves are 22-31 on the season, 15.5 games back of the Charlotte Knights in the International League's South Division.


MISSISSIPPI


The red-hot Mississippi Braves are on a roll, and tonight they go for win number five in a row as they take on the Carolina Mudcats as Five-County Stadium in Zebulon, North Carolina. Daniel Curtis (2-5, 4.91) will go for the Braves against righty James Russ (2-5, 4.07). Mississippi is 23-31 on the season.


MYRTLE BEACH


The Myrtle Beach Pelicans take on the Potomac Nationals tonight at 7:05 at G. Richard Pftizner Stadium in Woodbridge, Virginia. Kelvin Villa (2-1) goes against lefty Jon Felfoldi (1-1). The Pelicans have won two in a row and are 25-28 on the season, eleven games back of Kinston in the Carolina League's Southern Division.


ROME


Rome goes for another win tonight at Grayson Stadium in Savannah as they take on the Sand Gnats. Jairo Cuevas (3-3, 5.32) will go for the Braves, who are 36-16 on the season and 7.5 games up on Asheville in the Sally League's Southern Division.
