Scouting Director Roy Clark to chat Tuesday

Roy Clark, the Scouting Director of the Atlanta Braves, will chat with The Braves Show premium subscribers. The Braves Show's Bill Shanks has more.

For the last seven years the Atlanta Braves have had remarkable draft classes. From Adam Wainwright in 2000, to Jeff Francoeur in 2002, to Cody Johnson and a ton of pitchers last June in the 2006 draft, the Braves' drafts have been very impressive.

And the architect of those draft classes, Braves' Scouting Director Roy Clark, will chat with The Braves Show's premium subscribers Tuesday, November 14th around 7:00 pm in The Braves Show's chatroom.

Clark has been with the Braves since 1989. He's been the Scouting Director for the last seven years, and the Braves have seen an unprecedented number of homegrown players make it to the major leagues.

The Braves Show has several players, coaches, and executives in the chatroom during the offseason. Last year the following players joined premium subscribers in the chatroom: Brian McCann, Chuck James, Macay McBride, Blaine Boyer, Joey Devine, Kevin Barry, Jonathan Schuerholz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, and John Foster.

So join us Tuesday night around 7:00 pm for a chat with Roy Clark. We'll talk about the draft class for 2006 and about some of his better picks over the past seven years.

Bill Shanks is the author of Scout's Honor: The Bravest Way To Build A Winning Team, a look inside the Braves‘ traditional scouting and player development philosophies. He can also be heard regularly on the Braves Radio Network. Email Bill at
