Minor League Preview - April 20

The Braves Show's Bill Shanks previews Friday's action in the Braves' farm system.


The Braves finish out the five-game series in Louisville tonight at 7:00 pm ET with Buddy Carlyle on the hill. The veteran right-hander is 1-1 on the season with a 5.79 ERA. He'll face lefty Shane Youman. Richmond is now 7-3 on the season and remain in first place in the International League's South Division.


The Braves will finish out the series at West Tennessee tonight at 8:05 pm ET at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tennessee. Lefty Kelvin Villa (1-1, 3.86) will be on the mound for Mississippi against right-hander Joe Woerman (0-0, 2.08). The Braves are now 10-4 and have won all three series so far in this young season.


Myrtle Beach continues its series in Kinston tonight at 7:05. James Parr (0-2, 4.70) will start for the Pelicans against Indians righty Kevin Dixon (0-1, 6.10). With a two-game losing streak, the Pelicans are now at .500 on the season with a 7-7 record.


The Braves close out the four-game set in Asheville tonight at 7:05. Jeff Lyman will make his fourth start of the season. He's winless so far at 0-3 with an ERA of 5.93, but Lyman does have only one walk and 17 strikeouts in only 13.2 innings. The Braves are 3-12 on the season and return home Saturday to start an eight-game home stand at State Mutual Stadium.
