Minor League Report - Friday April 27

Here's a recap of Friday night's action around the Braves' farm system.


Richmond wins 4-1 in 11 innings at Norfolk. Wes Timmons scored on a throwing error by reliever Francisco Beltran on a bunt by Gregor Blanco. Braves are now 14-5 on the season.

Richmond Starter: Anthony Lerew - No decision - One unearned run allowed on four hits in seven innings, no walks, two strikeouts. Lerew lowered his ERA to 1.83.

Winning Pitcher: Joe Winkelsas - (1-0) - Four scoreless innings with one hit allowed and one walk.

Big Hitter: Yunel Escobar - 2-for-4 with two RBI (12). Batting average now at .329.


Braves beat Mobile 8-2 and are now 16-5 on the season.

Winning Pitcher: Matt Harrison - (3-0, 2.45) - Six scoreless innings - two hits, two walks, three strikeouts.

Big Hitter: Brandon Jones - 2-fpr-5 with two home runs (4) and four RBI (16).


Pelicans lose to Lynchburg 4-3. Myrtle Beach is now 10-11 on the season.

Myrtle Beach Starter: Jairo Cuevas - LP - (0-3) - one earned run allowed on six hits in five innings, one walk, six strikeouts.

Big Hitter: Quentin Davis - 3-for-5 with two RBI (7). Now hitting .304.


Rome beat Savannah 8-4 Friday night. They are now 4-18 on the season.

Rome Starter: Tim Gustafson - No Decision - four runs allowed on five hits in 4.2 innings, four walks, three strikeouts.

Winning Pitcher: Carlos Sencion - (1-1) - 4.1 scoreless innings, no walks, seven strikeouts

Big Hitter: Jordan Schafer - 2-for-4 with a two-run home run (4) and four RBI (17). Now hitting .354.
