Minor League Preview - June 15

Here's today's schedule around the Braves' farm system.


The Braves will try to snap a two-game losing streak tonight in Pawtucket. Lance Cormier will get a rehab start for Richmond against Jon Lester, the young Red Sox star coming back from cancer. The Braves are now 37-27 on the season, 5.5 games up on the Durham Bulls in the International League's South Division.


James Parr (0-0, 4.00 in AA - 3-4, 3.43 ERA overall in 11 starts) will try to end the Braves' five-game losing streak tonight as the Braves host Misissippi in game two of a five-game series. First pitch is slated for 8:05 ET. This will be the third night in a row the Braves have had a shot at clinching the South Division. They are 40-27 on the season and now only two games up on the Jacksonville Suns.


Moises Hernandez (9-2, 3.09) is back with the Pelicans and gets the start tonight at Coastal Federal Field against Kinston. Myrtle Beach has lost three in a row and is now 28-38 on the season, 16 games back in the Carolina League's Southern Division.


Rome has game two of its series in Savannah tonight at Grayson Stadium. Tim Gustafson (2-5, 5.09) will try to get back on track for the Braves, who have changed many of Gus's mechanics this season. Josh Stinson (2-7, 4.92) pitches for the Sand Gnats. Rome is 26-41 on the season.
