Minor League Preview - August 6

Here is a look at Monday's schedule around the Braves' minor league system.

RICHMOND

The Braves are off Monday before starting a four-game series in Charlotte tomorrow night. Richmond has won three in a row and is now 64-50 on the season, two and a half games up on the Durham Bulls in the International League's South Division.


MISSISSIPPI

Lefty Kelvin Villa (7-8, 5.19) goes for the Braves tonight in game four of the five-game set against Huntsville. Game time is 8:05 ET at Trustmark Park. The Braves have lost four in a row and are now 14-29 in the second half, 14.5 games back of Jacksonville in the Southern League's South Division.


MYRTLE BEACH

Former big leaguer Ryan Drese makes his debut in the Braves' organization tonight, pitching for the Pelicans in the first game of an important series with Kinston. Myrtle Beach trails the Indians by four games in the Carolina League's Southern Division. The Pelicans have won two in a row and are now 23-19 in the second half.


ROME

The red-hot Rome Braves go for the sweep against West Virginia tonight at State Mutual Stadium as they end an eight-game home stand. They are 6-1 so far and have really played well at home in the second half. Kyle Cofield (4-6, 3.53) is schedule to pitch for Rome. The Braves have won three in a row and are 24-19 in the second half of the season, three games back of Asheville in the Sally League's Southern Division. Rome has played very well since losing three of its main players from the first half. They are 23-11 since Tommy Hanson, Deunte Heath, and Kris Medlen were promoted to Myrtle Beach over a month ago.


DANVILLE

Jose Ortegano (4-0, 1.16) pitches for the Braves tonight at they host Princeton in the first game of a seven-game home stand. Danville has won two in a row and is now 30-12 on the season, seven games up on Burlington in the Appy League's East Division.


GCL BRAVES

The GCL kids have a rare night game tonight when they host the Yankees at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Game time is 7:00 pm. The Braves have won two in a row and are now 12-28, 15 games back of the Yankees.
