Minor League Preview - April 17

Here's today's minor league preview around the Braves' farm system.


The first place Richmond Braves will play game four of a five-game set today in Rochester at 1:35 pm. Francisley Bueno will pitch for the Braves against Kevin Mulvey. Richmond has won two in a row and is now 10-4 on the season, two and a half games ahead of Charlotte in the International League's South Division.


The Braves will try to snap a five-game losing streak tonight at 8:05 pm ET in Birmingham in game four of a five-game set. Jairo Cuevas pitches tonight for the Braves, while right-hander Carlos Torres goes for the Barons. Mississippi is 2-11 on the season, six games back of the Barons in the Southern League's South Division.


The Pelicans start a four-game series in Kinston starting at 7:00 tonight. Myrtle Beach will send righty Ryne Reynoso to the mound against Steven Wright. Myrtle Beach is in second place, a game and a half behind Salem with a 6-7 record on the season.


It's an off day today for the Rome Braves, and it could not have come at a better time. The Braves have lost six in a row and are now 4-10 on the season and in last place in the Sally League Southern Division. They start a weekend series at home Friday night against the Savannah Sand Gnats.
