It's now a three-game losing streak for the Braves, and they'll try to snap out of that tonight at 7:00 at the Diamond in game two of the set against Louisville. Richmond has also lost six out of its last seven games, but they remain in first place in the International League's South Division, a game and a half on top of Charlotte. Lefty Jonathan Rouwenhorst (3-1, 3.98) will pitch for Richmond against Louisville's Matt Maloney (2-1, 6.65).
The Braves play game three of the five-game series against Chattanooga tonight at 8:05 pm ET at Trustmark Park. Mississippi is 7-20 on the season and is playing a bit better baseball. They are still seven games out of first place behind the Birmingham Barons. Todd Redmond will pitch for the Braves against Lookouts right-hander Daryl Thompson. Redmond, acquired from the Pirates for Tyler Yates in March, has arguably been Mississippi's best starter through the first month. He's 1-1 with a 3.41 ERA in his first five starts.
The Pelicans have won four of its last five and seven of its past nine games and will continue the series in Salem tonight starting at 7:07 pm. Kyle Cofield (1-3, 4.50) will go for Myrtle Beach against Salem's Casey Hudspeth (1-2, 5.40). The Pelicans are three and a half games up on Salem in the Carolina League's Southern Division.
Rome snapped a three-game losing streak Thursday and will now go for two in a row against Greenville. Scott Diamond (2-0, 2.60) will get the start for the Braves, who are 11-16 on the season, nine games out of first place in the Sally League's Southern Division.
