Minor League Preview - June 22

Here is Sunday's schedule around the Braves' farm system.


The Braves close out their series in Syracuse tonight starting at 6:00 pm. Damian Moss is scheduled to go for the Braves against Chiefs' lefty David Purcey. Richmond snapped a four game losing streak and got back to .500 (38-38) with a 7-5 victory Saturday night. The Braves are still 2.5 games out of first place, behind the Durham Bulls.


It's the series finale this afternoon at 2:05 in Montgomery as the Braves go for win number three in a row. James Parr will pitch for Mississippi. The Braves are 4-1 in the second half of the season, a game up on Birmingham in the Southern League's South Division. They are 34-41 overall.


Today's game in Lynchburg is the final game for the Pelicans before the All-Star Break. First pitch will be at 2:05 with Ryne Reynoso on the mound. He's 6-4 overall this season with a 3.21 ERA. The right-hander has a 2.86 ERA in four starts in June, with only four walks and 16 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched. The Pelicans won the first half title. They are 48-27 with an 8.5 game lead on Kinston in the Carolina League's Southern Division.


The Braves finish the weekend home series with Savannah this afternoon at 2:05 at State Mutual Stadium. Eric Barrett will replace Cole Rohrbough for this start. Rohrbough has been bothered by an ankle problem the last few weeks. Rome is 1-2 in the second half so far, a game and a half out of first place. Overall, they are 23-49 this season.


Danville closes out a series in Greeneville tonight with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05. The Braves are 4-1 so far this season, tied for first place in the East Division with Pulaski.


The GCL Braves are off today. They play Monday against the Blue Jays. The GCL Braves are 2-1 in the first three games of the season.
