The Braves have signed right-hander J.J. Hoover to a contract. Hoover was the Braves' tenth round pick in the June Amateur Draft out of Calhoun Community College in Alabama.
Hoover has been pitching in the Cape Cod League this summer. He pitched in seven games, with six starts, and was 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 36 hits allowed in 36.1 innings, 10 earned runs, eight walks, and 38 strikeouts.
The Braves signed 23 players out of the draft, 13 pitchers (nine right-handers) and 10 position players.
