Minor League Preview - Saturday May 9

Here's a look at Saturday's minor league schedule.


The Braves host Durham tonight at Gwinnett Stadium starting at 7:00. Todd Redmond (2-1, 2.33) goes for the Braves against Bulls pitcher Carlos Hernandez (0-2, 5.87). The Braves have won three in a row and are now 14-15 on the season. The Braves sent Jerome Gamble back down to AA Mississippi today and promoted right-hander Tony Armas to Gwinnett.


Kyle Cofield (1-1, 3..96) will go for the Braves tonight at 8:05 pm ET as they host Tennessee. Marcos Mateo (0-0, 2.35) will pitch for the Smokies. Mississippi is now 13-15 on the season.


The Pelicans are in Kinston tonight with Richard Sullivan on the mound against fellow lefty Ryan Miller. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm ET. Myrtle Beach is 9-19 on the season and has lost six games in a row.


The Braves go for their fourth win in a row tonight as they host the Lexington Legends. David Francis makes his first start of the season. He's 1-1 with a 4.19 ERA in six relief appearances this season, with five walks and 22 strikeouts in 19.1 innings. Henry Villar (0-0, 2.37) will pitch for the Legends. First pitch will be at 7:00 pm ET.
