Third baseman Casey McGehee was fifth in the circuit with a .333 average through his first 30 contests (43 for 129), belting seven homers while knocking in 25 with a .356/.550/.906.
Chris Narveson had compiled a 2-2 mark and 3.54 ERA in seven starts covering 40.2 innings. The lefty had allowed 36 hits and 16 runs while striking out 42 and walking only nine. He had worked at least 6.1 innings in each of his last four appearances.
Brad Nelson was hitting .306 through 21 games with eight homers and 23 RBI, .375/.750/1.125 but hadn't played since Nov. 14.
Righty Joe Bateman had a 3-0 record and 3.71 ERA through 15 appearances covering 17 innings in which he had allowed 14 hits, seven runs and seven walks while fanning nine.
Juan Sandoval had allowed four runs in four innings for a 9.00 ERA.
Hernan Iribarren was hitting .330 in 29 games (36 for 109) with four triples, two homers and 12 RBI. He had nine stolen bases in 13 tries and a .413 OBP.
Tony Gwynn was up to .298 (28 for 94) in 25 outings, knocking in eight runs with a .391 OBP.
Jay Gibbons had improved his average to .250 by batting .324 in his last 10 games, giving him six homers and 19 RBI with a .362 OBP through 27 games.
Brendan Katin had stumbled a bit of late, hitting .200 in his most previous 10 games to sit at .247 and was still at 10 homers with 25 RBI. He had a .339 OBP and .958 OPS.

Steve Bray was 1-1 with a nifty 1.74 ERA having given up seven hits, two runs and two walks while striking out six in his first 10.1 innings.
Arizona Fall League
Rising outfield prospect Lorenzo Cain capped a nice 18-game stint with a .333 average (21 for 63) as the Peoria Javelinas finished 16-22. Cain ended up with five homers and 11 RBIs with a .382 on-base percentage, .635 slugging percentage and 1.017 OPS. He also stole four bases in five attempts.
Shortstop Brent Brewer finished on a high note, winding up at .300 (9 for 30) in his nine games, including two of his three homers—all solo shots—coming in his Nov. 20 finale.
Omar Aguilar was the organization's pitching bright spot, tossing 10 straight scoreless appearances before giving up two runs in his Nov. 18 finale. The righty finished with a 1.54 earned-run average, two saves with 10 hits, four walks and 12 strikeouts in 11.2 innings.
Alex Periard struggled mightily after a good start in which he didn't allow a run in his first four outings. However, he gave up 27 hits, 12 walks and all 18 runs he allowed during his last five appearances.
He ended up 0-3 with a 10.50 ERA.
Meanwhile, southpaw David Welch finished 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA, suffering only one bad outing in which he gave up five of his 14 hits and four of his six earned runs. Welch finished with 11 strikeouts and four walks.
Hawaii Winter League
Caleb Gindl came on strong to finish with a .281 average in 25 games while helping West Oahu to a 19-14 finish. Gindl ended up 27 of 96 with six doubles, three homes and 18 RBI and .361 OBP, hitting .350 in his last 10 contests that featured with a 5-for-8 effort with a homer and four RBI in his final two outings.
Fellow outfielder Logan Schafer hit .314 in his final 10 games to end up at .244 with one homer, 10 RBI and .347 OBP in 26 games.
Left-hander Chris Cody (0-0) made eight appearances, seven of them starts, registering a 3.90 ERA with 32 strikeouts and only nine walks in 32.1 innings but didn't pitch after Nov. 9.
Righty Cody Scarpetta scuffled until his last game in which he struck out eight in five scoreless innings to get a win and end his four-game stint with a 2-2 record and 8.03. His last outing was Nov. 11.
