Several members of the Milwaukee farm system finished their stays in the 2008 Dominican Winter League, which ended play Sunday.
Left-hander Rafael Lluberes, who pitched at Brevard County last summer, finished with a 1-0 record and 2.08 earned-run average, making nine appearances, including his lone victory on the final weekend while getting only one out. He accumulated four strikeouts, five walks and six hits in 4.1 innings overall, giving up his only earned run in his first outing.
Right-hander Joe Bateman finished with a strong showing, which featured a 4-0 record and 2.88 ERA in 22 relief appearances. Bateman allowed nine walks and 19 hits in 25 innings while fanning 17.
Another righty, Juan Sandoval, performed decently before slumping badly during his final five outings, which included giving up seven hits and six runs in his final game Sunday. That left him with a 1-0 mark and 12.27 ERA with four whiffs and eight free passes with 18 hits in 11 innings.
First baseman Brad Nelson never played after Nov. 14 because he returned to the United States to get married. However, while he was there he compiled a .306 average in 21 games with eight homers and 23 RBI with a .375/.750/1.125.
Southpaw Sam Narron didn't fare too well in limited action, going 0-3 with a 8.16 ERA in five games but didn't appear after Nov. 12.
