Became a Cardinal
Drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, (155th pick overall). Signed 6/10/08.
Split the season between Palm Beach and Springfield, appearing at both second and third base. Batted .429 in the Texas League playoffs.
After four months with Palm Beach, Curtis was sent down to Quad Cities for the final month of the season, a level he had skipped over previously. The difference was like night and day. After having posted an anemic .531 OPS in 90 Florida State League games, Curtis improved to .864 in 30 Midwest League contests.
Curtis hit .305 with two home runs and 20 RBIs for the NYPL Champions, the Batavia Muckdogs. He missed playing in the NY-Penn League All-Star game because of an ankle injury that landed him on the DL.
