Let me offer Rob's post into evidence as Exhibits A,B and C as to why our Top 50 Prospect list needs to be expanded to a Top 60 list this year. Special circumstances many times require special adjustments. With the Cardinal farm system teeming with quality young talents, selecting only 50 players simply does not cut the mustard. Let's do 60!
Gorgon might be struggling for support due to the ERA over 4.00 and WHIP over 1.300.
His second year back pitching after TJ should be better. If he can have anything like the 2010 he was having before getting injured he should be well up the list next year. Unless he's pitching for somebody else, that is.
I had voted Gorgon at about 44 and 45, I think, and went away from him because he was not getting votes from anywhere but me.
I'll go back to Gorgon for #50.
are we extending past 50 to take us through at least part of December? I would like to, but I know I'm not doing any of the heavy lifting here. I would like to thank those of you who have kept this thing moving. Great job! Thanks again!

I haven't paid much attention to him this year post suspension or during the AFL but until he shows that he's performing playing full time again off the juice I would said yes he's off the radar. It's a testament to our system that a solid catcher and good leader according to teammates.

Thanks, Lurking! We should consider ourselves lucky being Cardinal fans. One could only deduce that cubbie fans would be hard pressed getting past #20, let alone going all the way to #60. You just might see their Class AA affiliate batboy garner enough votes to check in at #21. These things can change though. Who knows, maybe 5 years from now we'll have a hard time coming up with 20 good prospects? Let's hope not.
Rasmus would not be in my list for some time. Juan Castillo, Jesus Montero, Cody Stanley, Gerwuins Velazco, and Luis Cruz all rate ahead of him in my book. Then, there's Pham, Rahmatulla, Luis Mateo, Matt Williams, Jacob Wilson, Melchionda, Caldwell, Luis Perez, Wiley, Matthew Young, Tuivailala, Yunior Castillo, Ben Freeman, Ferrara, etc. Don't see it with Rasmus until he shows something maybe next yr.
As of now I have Gorgen and O'Shea tied at 6 each. One or two have yet to vote I believe. Lets shoot for calling it around 6 or 7 this evening. Anybody wanting to re-think their vote should do so by then.
