The Cardinals are donating $25,000 to the Joplin Tornado relief effort, how nice. With all the money the organization brings in that is all they could come up with for a devastated city in their own State? When the Japan earthquake and tsunami destroyed many communities in that country, their baseball teams and players (even the ones playing in America and even some of the Foreign players in Japan) were donating millions of dollars at at time for their rebuilding. I certainly hope the Cardinals step up to the plate (pardon the pun) for these people and find a little more to spare in their budget than a measly 25K.
Does seem a bit paltry. I think sometimes if an organization makes an initial donation with a fair amount of zeros behind that first number then it may give the impression to others that no more money is needed. The Joplin relief effort is of course going to need vast sums of money from a wide variety of sources. I think the Cardinals are by no means finished with their aid for the good people of this devastated region.
