i posted this on the cardinals page also but I was wondering if anyone knew how good the players were about signing something that was mailed in. I was going to mail some balls in with return postage for my kids but i was just trying to figure out if they were pretty good about signing or not. any feedback will be greatley appreciated.
During this age where many players won't sneeze in your direction unless you lay a 20 spot on them, I think you'd find little if any success trying to secure autographs by sending them unannounced items via mail. Back in the day we'd send sports cards to players at their team playing venues and you'd be surprised at how many would be returned to you signed, sealed and delivered. One player that springs to mind is "Sweet" Lou Hudson of Atlanta's Hawks......I had about 15 signed cards of him. I would also send weekly mailings to the teams requesting freebies and far and away the most generous team was the Orioles......and it is for this reason that they remain my second favorite baseball team to this day.
