Cardinals Winter Leagues Notebook: 11/11/10

Javier Avendano pitches five scoreless for the win and Player of the Day honors. Manuel De La Cruz pitches three scoreless relief innings for the win in the LMP. Romulo Ruiz singles, doubles and drives in three in the Venezuelan Parallel League. Oneli Perez earns his third save in the Dominican. Chris Swauger and Daryl Jones each homer in LBCP.

Arizona Fall League

 

Tony Cruz (Memphis-Surprise) started at catcher and batted fourth. 1-for-3 with two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Pete Kozma (Springfield-Surprise) started at shortstop and batted eighth.  1-for-4 with one double, one run, and one strikeout.

Brian Broderick (Springfield-Surprise) started and pitched five innings.  He allowed seven hits, five earned runs, two home runs, and struck three out for the losing decision (2-1). (p-s:62-42)(g/f:5-6)

 

David Carpenter (Former Palm Beach-Peoria Javelinas) entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed two hits, one earned run, threw one wild pitch, and struck three out. (p-s:26-20)
