Cardinals Winter Leagues Notebook: 11/28/10

Romulo Ruiz collects two doubles, one HR and five RBI in two days for Player of the Day honors. Cesar Valera drives in two, Francisco Guzman pitches 2 2/3 scoreless innings for a win, Ildemaro Vargas knocks in one, and Hector Garcia gets four hits in the Venezuelan Parallel League. Amaury Cazana hits a HR and drives in two in the LMP. Dennis Martinez to be inducted into Caribbean Hall of Fame.

Iker Franco (Former Springfield-Obregon) started at catcher and batted seventh. 1-for-3 with one home run, one two-out RBI, one run, one walk, and one strikeout.

18-year old Left-handed pitcher Andi Oliva has arrived in Miami, FL and looks to sign a major league deal, turning down the Cuban Baseball Federation for participation during the 2010-11 season.  He hit the 90's when he pitched in the 15-16 baseball championship league and struck out 46 over 55.2 innings.
