Inside the Cardinals: Gary LaRocque: Part Two

The 34-year professional baseball veteran and senior advisor to player development discusses his time scouting for the St. Louis Cardinals.

In the first installment of this three-part series, we got to know the St. Louis Cardinals new Senior Advisor to Player Development Gary LaRocque as he outlined some of his numerous experiences in the game, going back to his college days in Connecticut.

Here in Part Two, we delve into his initial responsibilities with the Cardinals. Starting in 2008, LaRocque served as the senior special assistant to the general manager where he has provided advice and counsel to John Mozeliak and carried direct professional scouting responsibilities.

In this exclusive audio interview, LaRocque discusses amateur and professional scouting, the ongoing challenge of finding the next players, the marriage of scouting and analytics and much more.
