Cardinals Winter Leagues Notebook: 12/05/10

Domnit Bolivar connects for two doubles and drives in four runs for Player of the Day honors. Romulo Ruiz gets a double and one RBI, Ildemaro Vargas and Cesar Valera each drive in a run, Hector Garcia reaches base four times, Jose Martinez scores three, all in the Venezuelan Parallel League. Jem Argenal collects two doubles and three RBI in the LNBP. Pedro Feliz to begin play in the Dominican.

Mexican Pacific League

 

Amaury Cazana (Memphis-Culiacan) started in right field and batted sixth.  0-for-4 with one walk, two strikeouts, and one throwing error.

 

Alberto Castillo (Former MiLB Signing-Mochis) started and pitched five innings.  He allowed five hits, one earned run, four walks, and struck six out for the winning decision (7-1). (g/f:0-6)

18-year old pitcher Daniel Ceballos is the latest to defect from Cuba to Miami, FL. He is said to have four good pitches and topped off at 88-mph over the summer: El Nuevo Herald

17-year old right-handed Tung-Shih High School pitcher Pei-Yuan Huang received positive comments from Indians scout Greg Hibbard.  Hibbard says if the youngster was in the U.S., he would be scouted by the MLB and topped off at 88-mph in his latest outing.  Taiwan Baseball
